Deus SlidetoberFest 25 - Day Three Video Recap - The Bali Swank Rally

Day three, and the madness we call SlidetoberFest kept rolling with The Bali Swank Rally. Two divisions: Vintage and Open. The classics, rebuilt GL Pros and DTs, against a field of anything that ran and rolled. We capped the CCs, but not the attitude.

This year’s playground was Pantai Kelecung, raw, remote, and still clinging to the Bali of old. Coconut palms, undulating black sand beach, riverbanks, and open fields formed our trackside theatre. The route? A knot of sand, grass, and grit designed to test balance and patience in equal measure. They tore through it, engines barking, tyres biting, laughter bouncing off the palms.

A time trial where you start and stop your own clock. Take off too large and you can lose the front end before the first corner, come in too hot, and you overshoot. Five hundred metres of deep sand before spinning around and hugging the tide line. Round and round the paddock until your head is spinning. This wasn't a doddle, this was a test of dirt and devotion.

By day’s end, we were sunburnt, dirty, and grinning like idiots, the way all good Sundays should end.

Slidetoberfest is what happens when you throw boards, bikes, and Bali into a blender and forget to put the lid on. Born to celebrate the Deus Temple of Enthusiasm’s opening, at fifteen years of age, it’s an annual excuse for organised mayhem — part pilgrimage, part piss-take, all heart.

We call it a celebration of surf, soil, and silliness, seasoned generously with kicks and chaos and lubricated in healthy doses of coffee and beer.
